MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023 distinguem Jennifer Coolidge com o Comedic Genius Award

A MTV acaba de revelar que vai homenagear Jennifer Coolidge com o Comedic Genius Award nos MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, que serão transmitidos ao vivono dia 7 de maio, domingo, a partir das 01:00 (hora portuguesa), na MTV Portugal.

Coolidge torna-se, assim, a sexta personalidade galardoada com o cobiçado prémio, que distingue atores cuja enorme influência das suas incomparáveis contribuições para o mundo da comédia transformaram o género em geral. Em 2022, Jack Black juntou-se a uma impressionante lista de comediantes premiados no passado, incluindo Sacha Baron Cohen (2021), Melissa McCarthy (2016), Kevin Hart (2015) e Will Ferrell (2013).

Jennifer Coolidge tem sido uma peça fundamental em Hollywood desde que interpretou a Stifler's Mom no clássico de comédia de 1999 American Pie. Mais recentemente, Coolidge voltou a ser aclamada pela crítica pela sua interpretação da rica, instável e alheada personagem Tanya McQuoid, uma das preferidas dos fãs em The White Lotus da HBO. Esta interpretação valeu-lhe, em 2022, um Emmy Award, bem como um Golden Globe, dois Critics Choice Awards e um Screen Actors Guild Award.

Coolidge também participou recentemente em diversos projentos, incluindo a série da Netflix de Ryan Murphy, The Watcher, ao lado de Naomi Watts, a comédia romântica da Amazon Prime Video, Shotgun Wedding, junto de Jennifer Lopez, e a aventura familiar da Netflix We Have a Ghost, com David Harbour.

Amada pelo seu papel de Paulette na icónica franquia Legalmente Loira, protagonizada por Reese Witherspoon, e conhecida pelas suas frequentes colaborações com o realizador Christopher Guest em filmes como Best In Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003) e For Your Consideration (2006), a atriz e comediante também participou em A Cinderella Story, com Hilary Duff, e em Promising Young Woman, com Carey Mulligan.
