Taylor Swift lidera nomeações dos Video Music Awards 2023 da MTV

A MTV revelou as tão esperadas nomeações para os VMAs 2023, o evento que, todos os anos, celebra e reconhece os artistas cujo impacto cultural e trabalho desenvolvido ao longo dos últimos 12 meses transformaram a indústria da música e criaram um buzz global.

Com oito nomeações, Taylor Swift lidera a corrida deste ano, procurando repetir a vitória na categoria de Video of the Year após ter quebrados recordes no ano passado, tornando-se a única artista a vencer três vezes este tão disputado galardão.

É seguida de perto por SZA (indicada em seis categorias), Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo e Sam Smith (cinco cada) e BLACKPINK, Diddy e Shakira (quatro cada).

Este ano conta com um número recorde de estreantes nas nomeações aos VMAs – são 35 os artistas indicados pela primeira vez. Entre os debutantes que acumulam duas nomeações ou mais encontram-se Kim Petras (cinco), Metro Boomin e Rema (três), Ayra Starr, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Peso Pluma, Reneé Rapp e Yung Miami (dois cada).

Aespa, boygenius, Burna Boy, Davido, Eslabon Armado, FLETCHER, FIFTY FIFTY, JVKE, Lauren Spencer Smith, Musa Keys, PinkPantheress, Saucy Santana, Stephen Sanchez e Toosii são alguns dos artistas que também se encontram a lutar por um prémio pela primeira vez na sua carreira.

Os fãs de todo o mundo já podem votar nos seus favoritos ao longo de 15 categorias de género neutro, incluindo a nova categoria Best Afrobeats e os icónicos Video of the Year e Artist of the Year, em vote.mtv.com até ao dia 1 de setembro, sexta-feira. A votação para Best New Artist permanecerá ativa até ao dia do espetáculo, 12 de setembro, terça-feira. Os nomeados para as categorias sociais, como Group of the Year e Song of Summer, serão anunciados posteriormente.

Os MTV VMAs 2023 regressam assim para celebrar os maiores nomes da música na noite de 12 de setembro, terça-feira, às 01:00 (hora portuguesa), com surpresas que prometem fazer as manchetes da imprensa mundial, apresentações únicas e uma audiência repleta de fãs ao vivo a partir do famoso Prudential Center de New Jersey, nos EUA.

Bruce Gillmer e Jess Ignjatovic, cofundador do Den of Thieves, são os Executive Producers dos MTV VMAs 2023. Barb Bialkowski é a Co-Executive Producer. Alicia Portugal e Jackie Barba são os Executives in Charge of Production. Wendy Plaut é a Executive in Charge of Celebrity Talent. Lisa Lauricella é a Music Talent Executive.
